Carolina Soaring Association is a Volunteer driven, non-profit club dedicated to promoting the sport of soaring within our region. We welcome veteran glider pilots, student pilots, and absolute beginners. Carolina Soaring Association operates at  Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport (KSPA) located at 500 Ammons Rd. Spartanburg, South Carolina. convenient for glider pilots from North Carolina and Georgia as well.

 

Carolina Soaring Association members & friends are able to soar all year round thanks to Spartanburg's mild climate. Except on the coolest winter days, local thermals often enable the gliders to remain aloft for hours after a short tow behind the club's tow plane, or a launch into the air by the club's winch.
